A: Yes, Offroadlands is currently the only company providing self-driving tours in the Himalayas in the Mustang area.

Q: What kind of vehicles are used for the self-driving tours?

A: Offroadlands uses big, comfortable Toyota Landcruisers and Nissan Patrols for their self-driving tours.

Q: Will there be a professional driver for each car?

A: Yes, each car will have a professional driver who will drive in the cities or when the travellers don't feel like driving themselves.

Q: Can multiple people take turns driving during the trip in the mountains?

A: Yes, there will be up to three drivers per car who can take turns driving during the trip in the mountains.

Q: Are there any luxury accommodations included in the self-driving tour?

A: Yes, Offroadlands mixes luxury with adventure by including stays in very good hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Q: Will travellers get the chance to drive themselves in the Himalayas?

A: Yes, Offroadlands allows travellers to be behind the wheel in the magnificent Himalayas.

A: The trip will reach elevations up to 4000 meters.

Q: Do travellers need to have a proper medical insurance with an evacuation option?

A: Yes, travellers are required to have a proper medical insurance with an evacuation option due to the high elevation and remote location of the trip.

Q: Will self-driving be allowed on highways like KTM to Besishahar to Pokhara and Muktinath to Pokhara?

A: No, self-driving will only be performed on rough roads in the mountains. Driving on highways will be conducted by a professional driver.

Q: Will the driving hours mentioned in the tour itinerary be exact?

A: The driving hours mentioned in the tour itinerary may not be exact and are subject to traffic, weather conditions, and driving speeds.

Q: What documents are required for driving during the 4WD tour?

A: A valid International Driver's Licence and Travel Insurance will be required for driving during the 4WD tour.

Q: What type of transmission will the cars be equipped with?

A: All cars will be equipped with manual transmission only.

Q: How are the prices calculated for the tour?

A: The prices are per person, based on twin share occupancy. The AUD prices are based on USD and calculated at today's rate of exchange. Any large movement in the exchange rate may require an adjustment, and the tour price will be finalized at the time of booking.

Q: Is there a single supplement available for the tour?

A: Yes, a single supplement is available for an extra AUD $1500.

Q: What is included in the cost of the self-driving tour to Mustang?

A: The cost includes Pokhara - Kathmandu domestic flight, international & domestic airport transfers as per the itinerary, hotel accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara on twin sharing basis with breakfast, lunch and dinner provided in Gateway Himalaya in Besishahar, Kathmandu sightseeing with a professional English speaking tour guide, 4WD Jeep Toyota Landcruiser with professional driver, 3 meals a day during the 4WD trip, accommodation while on the 4WD tour on twin sharing basis in guesthouses, Annapurna conservation area permit and TIMS card, professional government licensed English speaking mountain guide, salary, food, drinks, accommodation, transportation and insurance for the guide and drivers, duffel bag during the Mustang 4WD tour (refundable at the end of the trip), medical supplies (first aid kit including oxygen bottles will be available), and all government and local taxes.

Q: What is not included in the cost of the self-driving tour to Mustang?

A: The cost does not include entry visa fees, lunch and dinner in Kathmandu and Pokhara, insurance which covers medical, emergency evacuation, lost, etc., beverages, alcoholic drinks, mineral water, boiled water during the touring, hot shower during the trip, all food and beverages other than on the itinerary, trip interruption costs due to weather or political instability in Nepal, extra night accommodation in Kathmandu because of early arrival, late departure, and early return from the mountain (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary, personal gear and expenses, tips and gratitude provided to guides and drivers, and all other expenses and costs that are not mentioned in the cost include section.

Q: Will the cost of the tour be affected by any changes in exchange rates?

A: Yes, any large movement in the exchange rate may require an adjustment to the tour price, and the tour price will be finalised at the time of booking.

Q: Is a visa required for entry into Nepal?

A: Yes, entry visa fees are not included in the cost of the tour, and it is currently USD $30 for 15 days.

Q: Will the tour provide medical supplies and first aid?

A: Yes, medical supplies including oxygen bottles will be available during the tour.

​

Q: Is insurance included in the cost of the tour?

A: No, insurance which covers medical, emergency evacuation, lost, etc. is not included in the cost of the tour.
