Great Experience
Silver Lake has been my favorite vacation destination since I found it a couple years ago. Very nice family atmosphere and the dunes can challenge many skill levels. Traversing the big dunes is completely optional, but some skills will help just getting around. Never got stuck when someone did not stop to help. Really like the state park campground but, geez, they really are proud of it.... more | |

Sand dunes! Ah!
What's great about this place is that all traffic is directed to go one-way, so you don't have to worry about running into someone coming up from the other side of the dune.
I'm giving it 3 stars because there isn't much variety in the dunes. There's sand, sand and more sand. No rocks, no mud, to creeks. I got bored really fast, but if sand is what you like, then it's a great place to be! | |
