No alliance member believes that recreation enthusiasts have the right to exclusive, unregulated use of our national heritage, but all oppose land closure or extreme regulation, which denies responsible citizens access to public lands for multifaceted recreational pursuits. Arizona State Association of 4-Wheel Drive Clubs The Arizona State Association of 4-Wheel Drive Clubs, Inc., is an association of rough-terrain vehicle clubs with the following goals: to promote a more responsible attitude towards the vehicle use of public lands, to prevent legislation which would impose undue restriction on recreational 4-wheeling, to institute programs of Conservation, Education and Safety, and to provide social and recreational activities for its members. The Association assists the state and national resource management agencies. BlueRibbon Coalition The BlueRibbon Coalition is a national non-profit organization dedicated to preserving responsible recreational access to public lands. We want to keep your land open for use, whether you recreate on a mountain bike, snowmobile, motorcycle, personal watercraft, ATV, four-wheeler, horse, or your hiking boots. Today, the BlueRibbon Coalition is a respected national recreation group that represents over 10,000 individual members and 1,200 organization and business members, for a combined total of over 600,000 recreationists nationwide. Bureau of Land Management The BLM is responsible for carrying out a variety of programs for the management and conservation, of resources on 258 million surface acres, as well as 700 million acres of subsurface mineral estate, These public lands make up about 13 percent of the total land surface of the United States and more than 40 percent of all land managed by the Federal government. California Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs Since 1959, our non-profit organization has actively promoted the advancement of vehicle oriented outdoor recreation. Today, the Association represents over 8,000 members and 160 member clubs. We are the largest organization of this type in the State and represent owners of all makes and models of 4WD vehicles, as well as non-owners who support responsible vehicle oriented recreation. We maintain a full time office in Sacramento. Our staff and volunteers work closely with legislators and land use managers to provide input, influence, expertise, and manpower to keep lands open to 4WD vehicle access. Many successful battles have been waged and won to keep trails open all over the State. We keep our members informed about important issues and changing laws through our monthly newspaper (In Gear) Members enjoy Association-sponsored events all year round. These events cover every type of terrain in every corner of the State. Whether you are interested in extremely challenging "hard rock" trails for the experienced enthusiast, or milder runs for the new 4-wheeler, we have several events just for you. Member clubs also sponsor monthly runs open to all. Our members are active in conservation projects throughout the State. Projects, which are coordinated with local agencies, can range from tree planting to removing junk cars from remote areas, from closing off entrances of hazardous mine shafts to repairing trail damage. We have received national recognition for winning "Take Pride in California" awards, and "Volunteers For Public Lands National Awards." Many clubs also have Adopt-A-Trails they are responsible for. California Off Road Vehicle Association The California Off Road Vehicle Association (CORVA) is a varied group of outdoor recreationists who are extremely active in promoting the positive aspects of vehicular access on public lands and protecting that right. The group is composed of the owners of "Green Sticker" vehicles such as ATV's, motorcycles, 3-wheelers, trail bikes, and dune buggies, as well as "street legal" 4X4 vehicles, dual sport motorcycles, bajas, and desert racers. CORVA's main purpose is to work with the land managers for responsible off-highway vehicular access and recreation opportunities. Secondarily, we educate our membership on the constantly changing rules and regulations and promote clean-up and trail maintenance projects. We are very active in the political arena and contribute to a lobbyist in Sacramento. We work closely with the State Department of Parks and Recreation, providing input to the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Program from the user's standpoint. We provide a valuable resource to land managers in the form of dedicated OHV enthusiasts who believe in responsible vehicular access. A portion of the budgets for California's national forests and the public lands administered by the BLM is funded by grants from the Green Sticker Program. We work with land managers to formulate the grants and give our input about the grants to the OHMVR Program which administers them. We also review how effectively our Green Sticker money was used in each program. We are active at all levels of the land management public process with both the BLM and the USFS. We do this by commenting on environmental documents on as many issues as possible and maintaining close relationships with personnel in the field as well as the staff. We coordinate with other multiple use organizations ranging from snowmobiles to horse enthusiasts to protect multiple use rights from the environmental extremists. Florida Four Wheel Drive Association The purpose of the Florida Four Wheel Drive Association, Inc., is to protect our forest resources against land closures and to educate four wheel drive owners on proper trail etiquette, how to best conserve our natural resources and to assist public land managers. Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association The Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association (GLFWDA) is a non-profit organization built around four wheel drive vehicles, their owners, and the land we use them on. GLFWDA works to bring together these users with organized events such as camping trips, casual trail rides, and weekend wheeling trips. GLFWDA also acts as the region's voice to help keep our trails open so that we can continue to use our land and enjoy these outdoor activities for generations to come. GLFWDA is also a part of the United Four Wheel Drive Association (UFWDA), one of the largest supportive groups for off-highway recreation. GLFWDA is also active in land use issues and ORV trail maintenance activities in many parts of the region on both public and private lands. We enjoy an excellent reputation with Land Use managers as a group of responsible land users who are concerned about environmental issues and motorized access. We often field crews of volunteers with all the necessary skills, equipment, and training to handle diverse projects including clean up, fencing, signage and, trail maintenance. Indiana Four Wheel Drive Association Formed in 1980, the Indiana Four Wheel Drive Association (IFWDA) acts on the common concern for motorized recreation while practicing stewardship of our natural resources. IFWDA, through its association with other state and national organizations, works to promote and act on issues affecting four wheel drive recreation. IFWDA coordinates with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) on various planning boards. This includes participation on the Indiana Trails Advisory Board, which sets the direction for trail use on all IDNR properties. Through this partnership with IDNR it is hoped that some public lands will be opened to four wheel drive recreation. Volunteers from member clubs are always eager to help with conservation projects. Northwest Motorcycle Association The Northwest Motorcycle Association (NMA) in Washington state was founded in 1973 and is dedicated to the preservation of off-road motorcycling. Interested having fun, the NMA sponsors competitive and non-competitive events for NMA members. SFWDA is an association of 4WD clubs located in the southeastern United States (Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee). Wheelers for the Wounded Wheelers for the Wounded is an organization with the goal of providing a weekend of off-roading and camping to our country's wounded military members all over the United States. The top and doors will be removed which will benefit those who have lost partial eyesight and/or hearing, a common result of I.E.D., E.F.P., rocket and mortar attacks. The Rubicon is currently in the process of being customized and will truly be a one of a kind vehicle.
